Ocean Wise Ambassador – 2022 Ocean Bridge Cohort

A bit about me: Hi there! My name is Emma, and I am from St. John’s, Newfoundland. I have a degree in marine biology, and I love spending time outdoors hiking, camping and exploring. I am currently completing my MSc in marine biology, focusing on biodegradation of crude oil by marine bacteria.

A fun fact about me: I love knitting! It is one of my favourite hobbies.

Ocean Wise is based in the traditional and unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. We work across Turtle Island and beyond, supporting Indigenous peoples in their vital work on ocean conservation and biodiversity whenever possible or as we are invited to.
