We’ll be honest – this action isn’t the most exciting. But it makes an impact! We challenge you switch to online billing with your service providers. The vast majority of banks, utilities, and local governments provide convenient online billing and payment options, which avoids mail that often has a plastic panel or lining. Bonus points if you reach out to local businesses and ask them to stop sending you junk mail!
Go Digital: Some of the simplest swaps are the most effective! When possible, choose the digital option instead of hard copy.
With this action in mind, take the Plastic Challenge!

Ocean Wise is based in the traditional and unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. We work across Turtle Island and beyond, supporting Indigenous peoples in their vital work on ocean conservation and biodiversity whenever possible or as we are invited to.
